Activity Report

Although we minimized the number of attendees in this event, due to the pandemic, the lecture room was full.  First, President Tanabe of the Minato UNESCO Association, gave an opening remark, followed by introduction of the lecturer.  Mr. Fukumoto talked about three major topics, as shown below, and the audience listened intently to his insightful views.

In the past, MUA published four commemorative booklets at the 15th, 20th, 25th and 30th anniversary of its foundation.  I participated in the editorial work of the 20th through 30th booklets.  Therefore, it was a great pleasure to join the editorial team again in the 40th anniversary publication. Let me extend my heartfelt thanks to all of the editorial committee members whose support enabled the successful publication of the 40th anniversary booklet.

Now is the time for all UNESCO associations across Japan to strengthen their pursuit of the shared mission because we are into a new era where our commitment to peace is again challenged more than ever.

The Minato UNESCO Association observed the 40th anniversary of its foundation in October 2021.  To commemorate the milestone, MUA held a celebration gathering in the evening of Wednesday, April 20 in Room 101 of Minato City Life-long Learning Center.
